BBL.
Currently in the middle of DOMS hell from my first every personal training session on Monday night. When I can move my arms and legs without cringing in pain I’ll be back!
OUCH.
Do you ever look at normal everyday items and think WTF? I had a WTF moment this afternoon when I opened up a new box of contact lens solution.
After 1 year of being contact free I was lured back to wearing contacts by my optometrist with promises of a new material that won’t hurt my eyes and I could were them every day, (side note after a month of trials they are AWESOME and I can wear them every day without issue now). Back on topic, I went to pick up my contact lenses today and I got some contact lenses solution to go with it, the cashier sold me on their brand which is cheaper and better value. When I got everything home I opened up the boxes in excitement and found this.

Open it up and you get this:

This is absolutely bizarre it reminds me of some sort of specimen container. I’m used to something like this:

There is only one of these funky little cases but you used to get 3 cases in a pack of lens solution because due to health requirements you should always use a new case for every pair of lenses. You must be able to reuse the containers, my mind boggles.
Yes this was an entire post dedicated to my contacts.
Hi Mum,
Look at me, I’m being an adult. It was friday night drinks tonight and I left at 6:30pm. I think there’s a point in your life where you realise I can keep on going and have an epic night then an epic hangover, or I can go home have a proper dinner and get some sleep and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
If you can’t tell, I went for the 2nd option. I’m safely home, feeling a bit buzzed but happy. I’m curled up on the couch waiting for dinner to cook and looking forward to Masterhchef’s Masterclass. I only had 4 drinks tonight, vodka lime and sodas. I know 4 drinks is still a lot, but not really a lot compared to what we Gen Y’s usually down. I’m really focused on my health and fitness right now, which you are aware of, today I learnt that the average vodka, lime and soda is worth 76 calories, so yes I’ve consumed 304 non food related calories today, this helped me stop at 4 now I just have to figure out how I’m going to work off the calories.
I miss you guys heaps, I can’t wait till you come down to visit me this July, I have so many plans and so many places to take you! Anyway I better go, love you heaps.

This is the end result of my first DIY venture. I’m happy with it, I love the colour, I love the way it looks in my apartment but I just don’t like the execution.
Where I went wrong:
One of my favourite things about Melbourne is all the markets! There are heaps and each one is amazing and full of so many different items and fresh food. I live the closest to The Prahran Markets and while it can be more expensive than the Vic Markets i still love it and every week I find myself in here checking out the food and flowers.
These photos have been taken over the past few months.

one of the many cheese delis.

More cheese suppliers.

This is where I get my weekend fix, they have the friendliest staff as well.

Weird and wonderful Asian food stuffs.

The meat, poultry and seafood hall.
The most favourite thing about the meat hall for me is that every vendor makes their own sausages and every weekend you can sample the freshly grilled sausages! Yum
It’s not all fruit, meat and flowers though. The Prahran Market’s is also home to the specialty cooking shop The Essential Ingredient. Any speciality cooking item you want you can find here whether you saw it on Masterchef or in that vintage 1970′s Moroccan cookbook.

Do want!

I love the markets and I can’t wait until Mum comes to visit so I can show them off to her!
I think I’ve been bitten by the DIY bug. Yesterday I spent an hour happily browsing Bunnings and checking out the doorknobs, light fittings and paint selection because I rent I can’t paint the walls so I decided on the next best thing! Time to give my tired old drawers a fresh look! This is just the first coat, 1 more coat to get then I need to apply a gloss coat but I can’t wait to see the finished result. I’m still undecided on painting the matching mirror though on thinking of leaving it black for the contrast of the room.

I leave you all with this weeks flowers. Gerberas. I don’t normally get these kinds because I hate how they loose their petals, within 3 days of buying them I usually throw them out. Gerbera’s remind me of my childhood and my mum, we used to live near a Gerbera farm and my mum would get the offcuts. Years later when i was 19 I was having a casual conversation with the Courier at work and he mentioned how that he services the Gerbera farm and I told him the story of the flowers and the next week he turned up at work with a bunch of them! They were lovely but I nearly died from embarrassment when everyone in the office teased me about “my new boyfriend”.

When you live alone for the first time you learn to live without the luxuries of your parents houses or the luxury of combined housemate house hold items. Some may go out and buy all the items and put it on credit, I prefer not to and learn to adapt to living without the items.
Things I’ve learned to live without so far
I now present to you all my newest ingenious discovery for all those single girls who live alone and do not have ladders, chairs or tall male friends to assist in changing lightbulbs.

Yes that is a pile of clothes on the right hand corner on the floor, lets ignore that.
You just need push your futon into your kitchen to stand on so you can finally change your lightbulbs. I can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner, I have spent 6 months without light in my kitchen and today I cracked and went to Bunnings and purchased the lightbulbs and came up with this ingenious work around! I have light in my kitchen!
How have you guys learnt to adapt without household items?
I was so excited when I moved into my first “adult apartment”. No housemates, no housemate clutter, no inherited items of ugly found during a night out and being able to finally make my own choices in the decoration of my home.
I have some difficulty sleeping at night so I wanted to make my room a calm oasis, nothing to bright and garish and nothing to distract me from sleeping. My bed is the Leirvik from Ikea, the bedsheets are from Ikea as well and I have strung fairy flights through the frame. Instead of picture’s I hung an old dress I haven’t been able to fit into for a while, some inspiration while Im loosing weight.

Just keeping it real…
Someone needs to tell my clothes to start hanging themselves because I’m never going to do it.

Sometimes I wake up with the urge to shop except I’m saving for an epic Europe trip next year so I can’t fulfil that urge as often as I would like. Instead I went to priceline on Sunday and picked up this lovely min nailpolish called Sweetpea by Australis, it only cost me $7.95. The colour is awesome unfortuanately I got what I paid for and the nail polish chips way to easy, instead of wasting the colour I did a polka dot manicure instead and I love it! It still looks chipped up close but I’ve got an extra 2 days out of the colour before I’ll need to change it.
